Company’s Annual Contributions to American Epilepsy Society Have Totaled More Than $250,000
IRVINE, Calif. – Nov. 28, 2018 – For the 10th consecutive year, Nihon Kohden has donated the proceeds from the sale of one of its EEG-1200A machines to the American Epilepsy Society’s (AES) clinical and basic research fellowships. The proceeds of the EEG system, which was purchased by Memorial Hermann Health System, will be presented to AES at 2 p.m. on Dec. 1 during the society’s annual meeting in New Orleans.
Nihon Kohden, a leader in epilepsy and neurology instrumentation, initiated the donation program a decade ago to foster future advancements in epilepsy diagnosis and treatment. Since its inception, the company has contributed more than $250,000 to AES’s research programs.
“Nihon Kohden’s gifts over the last 10 years have funded the promising epilepsy research of several new investigators,” said Shlomo Shinnar, American Epilepsy Society president. “Investment in early career researchers is a key priority for AES and represents an investment in the future of epilepsy research and the improvements in care for our patients.
