NKV-330 Ventilator System

In today's acute care environment, medical device technology that improves patient safety, quality of care, and outcomes, while simultaneously managing cost of care is of critical importance to forward thinking clinicians.

The NKV-330 Ventilator System is a non-invasive ventilator with the flexibility to adapt to changing patient conditions and environments, thus advancing the interests of clinicians and patients alike by all of these measures.

 Improving patient care

  • Offers multiple non-invasive ventilation and high flow oxygen therapy modes
  • Provides 72 hours of full-disclosure clinical data to determine the best treatment
  • Increases patient comfort with a formfitting NPPV mask
  • Boasts adaptive triggering to address challenges with changing patient conditions

Flexibility

  • Provides ventilation for patients > 12.5 kg with tidal volumes as low as 100 mL
  • Adapts easily from urgent, to acute, to alternative care environments
  • Offers highly configurable alarms to fit your hospital's workflow
  • Detects CO2 and SpO2 parameters automatically with Smart Cable System
  • Reconfigures easily for in-house transport

 Managing Patient Safety

  • Provides prompt notification of critical ventilator events with easily visible alarms
  • Ensures continuous operation with a “hot swap” main battery and internal backup battery
  • Incorporates dual HEPA filter protection for both patient and ventilator
  • Delivers continuous CO2 monitoring with cap-ONE during NPPV therapy

 CO2 monitoring with cap-ONE® mask

Capnography, the measurement, and waveform display of carbon dioxide (CO2), has been used for decades to gauge the patient’s status and guide therapy, providing clinicians meaningful data in their care of patients.

An article published, in July 2020, compared measured CO2 values obtained from the cap-ONE mask and the conventional method to the known CO2 value. The NPPV  cap-ONE® mask as compared to the conventional method was within about 6 mmHg of the actual value, while the conventional method was within about 24 mmHg of the actual value, showing that the CO2 measurement accuracy of the NPPV cap-ONE mask system may be better compared to the airway adapter system.

A recent study by Sakuraya, et. al. described Nihon Kohden’s innovative NPPV (Non-invasive Positive Pressure) cap-ONE® masks as the first-of-its-kind interface for non-invasive ventilation (NIV) that facilitates the monitoring of exhaled carbon dioxide (ETCO2).2
